About Red Wire Red Wire Films was founded by J. Justin Pearce in August 2005. Originally planned as a website to showcase film projects, the devastation of Hurricane Katrina August 29, 2005 opened up the potential for the site to be used to share photos, video and ideas about the storm and its path of destruction. Red Wire Films brought together photojournalists from the Mississippi Gulf Coast and Louisiana who shot, collected and painstakingly archived thousands of images in the weeks after Katrina. It is the intention of the Red Wire staff to share as much of this imagery and footage as possible with the public as residents on the Coast begin rebuilding their lives. Photo galleries are being posted as time allows. A commemorative poster is available on the Katrina Project page and a DVD Katrina Diary is now available for order.
